ShopMITRA

The operating system for India's small retailers.

Every morning, a kirana owner will ask ShopMITRA one question — and ShopMITRA will know the answer. Today's sales. Slow stock. What to reorder. Where it's kept. Voice-first, vernacular-native, designed for the 63 million shopkeepers who would never use English software.

The thesis

"Kya bolta hai?"

The first question of the day.

India has more than 63 million small retailers. They move ₹18 lakh crore of goods each year. They are the most operationally sophisticated single-person businesses in the country — and almost all of it runs on memory, paper, and pattern recognition built up over decades.

The category does not need a CRM. It does not need another dashboard. What it needs is something the shopkeeper can talk to — in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, the language that comes out of the mouth before any other — that knows the shop and answers the questions that matter.

The daily voice habit is the moat. Not the feature list. Not the analytics. The fact that ShopMITRA is the first thing the shopkeeper consults each morning, and the last thing they would ever give up.

Who it is for

Built for the shop that runs on memory.

Kirana owners

The corner store that runs on memory, not software.

Pharmacies

Stock that moves fast, customers who need it faster, no time for a dashboard.

Hardware shops

Hundreds of SKUs, supplier relationships, reorder cycles — all carried in someone's head.

The roadmap

Five phases to the end state.

ShopMITRA's value compounds with each phase. The habit becomes a memory, the memory becomes a network, the network becomes infrastructure.

1

Daily Assistant

"Kya bolta hai?" — voice-first daily engagement. Sales, stock, reorders, shelf locations. The first goal is the habit.

2

Memory Layer

The shop's persistent intelligence. What sold. What is running low. What is moving and what is not. Knowledge that does not disappear when the shopkeeper closes the shutter.

3

Intelligence Network

Demand patterns, local trends, category growth. Thousands of shops, taken together, become a real-time retail intelligence network.

4

Commerce Infrastructure

Brands and distributors arrive on ShopMITRA's terms — because ShopMITRA understands each retailer better than anyone else can.

5

Retail Operating System

The shopkeeper is the entry point. FMCG companies, distributors, and market-intelligence firms become long-term participants in the network.

Where we are

ShopMITRA is in active development. Structured field pilots are under way with a small number of shops in Maharashtra and Gujarat, in Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati. We are not yet open for general signup.

If you are a retailer interested in early access, a field operator who works with small businesses, or an FMCG or distribution partner thinking about the long-term shape of small-retail commerce — we would like to hear from you.

The first 50 shops on ShopMITRA will shape the product more than anyone who follows. If you would like to be among them, or to support the field rollout, reach out.
